This is the list I am planning on taking to this years GT season. It is hard-hitting, with possibilities of Alpha-Strikes, and enough boots on the ground to not be screwed in objective missions. The units in the list work well together, and I am fairly versed in the chemistry Sanguinor and Mephiston have. Anyway, here is the list at 2000 points...
Sanguinor
Mephiston
Furioso w/ Blood Talons, Heavy Flamer
Furioso w/ Blood Talons, Heavy Flamer
Sanguinary Priest w/ Combi-Flamer, Melta Bombs
10*Assault Marines w/ 2*Meltaguns, Power Fist, Rhino
10*Assault Marines w/ 2*Meltaguns, Power Fist, Rhino
9*Assault Marines w/ Flamer, Storm Shield, Rhino
Stormraven w/ Multi-Melta, Lascannon, Extra Armour, Searchlight
Stormraven w/ Multi-Melta, Assault Cannon, Extra Armour
For 1850 one 10 man unit is replaced by a 5 man Jump Pack unit w/ a Melta Gun, and one Dreadnought loses its Heavy Flamer. Played the smaller version in a game today and it did very well against a Dreadnought spam, Mephiston list. I went first, then made all six 'Flat Out' saves I was forced to make on his turn 1 and then all my stuff got into it. My Mephiston did 4 wounds to his Mephiston before it got to strike thanks to the Priest giving him higher Initiative, my opponent then killed himself with a perils test when he went to strike me back. I had him pretty well mopped up by turn 3.
How did meph get FC? He's not an IC nor is Sang? Or did the meph v meph combat take place later in the game when the priest caught up via rhino?
ReplyDeleteAny way I am liking it, think it's a cool route you and jawa are taking! Have to say drawn a good (alot) off this for my BA list these days
Caught up with the rhino turn 2 when the charge happened.
ReplyDeleteFair play, looking at my comment I can see why I didnt figure that out - I think I posted that when my fever woke me up at 5am - I actually barely remember writing it.
ReplyDeleteBut I do really like that list - I am trying to make it fit for 1500 - I guess could simply drop the Sang + his storm raven to make it work (from your 1850 list).
what runs in the bloodravens? Just the dread or do you load mephiston into one and the sang into the other?
ReplyDeleteYou know, its the darndest thing. Just last week after reading your original "Angel and Demon" list I came up with something similar...
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see how this comes out
@ Bully Or you could take out the Priest, make all the squads tiny, and keep both deathball units... :)
ReplyDelete@ Anon, Yep, I load the non-IC characters in them.
@Sean. We'll see, but early returns are good...
Thinking about that Aventine, been working on a list for most of this week as I want something cool to play.
ReplyDeleteThursday night saw a guy running Dante and Sang in a jumper list, and his Sanginator improved Sarge's squad tore through shooty SW terms and Sang just ate Logan, his squad and another squad alive.
Just makes me want them so bad.
Thinking that Meph might drop from the 1500 list in favour of a Libby to save 125 points - and run with jumper ASM's.
Not sure - will play about, have the models.
It will be an army to be a break from my GK's and DW though hehe.
