Envoys of Tombworld Ib, Dynasty of the Fleshy Kings

Many Necron Lords long to return their race to the flesh and blood form that was stolen from them. For the rulers of the Tombworld Ib, this longing has become an obsession, and the sole purpose and catalyst for all of their actions. In raid after raid, their enemies are terrified to find that the Legions of Ib take but one thing in their battles; the fallen corpses of the enemy.

The Lords of Ib, dubbed the 'Fleshy Kings' by Inquisitor Balorea,  have employed numerous dark technologies and spent countless hours experimenting on the flesh of the living races, trying to create a vessel in which they and their legions could dwell. The Envoys represent their most current, best, attempt at this feat. The Fleshy Kings have found it easy to create biological bodies, manipulating and tweaking genomes on a molecular level and growing the resultant creatures in vats of biological compounds. Yet they have found it very difficult to animate these hulks, much less transfer their minds into them. Thus  the Lords of Ib have experimented with the use of  mindshackle scarabs to reanimate the dead, stealing corpses from the battlefield and recreating their synapses with nanotechnology. The combination of these experiments has given rise to the Envoys, vat-grown monstrosities based off the Space Marine genome and animated by a network of mindshackle scarabs acting as a crude nervous system.

Though unpredictable in battle, they are quite resilient. Elimination of the Envoys and any other field test experiments should be of the highest priority when engaging the armies of Ib.

World Eaters Rampager

Possibly a lot of FW Heresy World Eaters coming up. I went for a very weathered/dirty appearance to play down the brightness of the white and blue. It was fun playing with different techniques with the blood technical paint, and I think it helped that I had been watching some Dexter recently.

Assault Squad Quba

Got this little squad done and I quite like how they look together; even with the armour mixed up with the MK4 packs. I did the Rampagers icon on one of the guys and it worked out I think. Good ol' space Mongolians...

Got the leader of the Terminators, banner from a Skaven model with 5th legion symbol added. Only one more of these guys to finish the unit...

Brother Quba, Son of Chogoris

This fellow is my Assault squad sergeant. He got a nice mustache courtesy of the Marauder horsemen kit, as well as his axe blade. The sword is from the old White Scars upgrade bitz, jump pack from a Sanguinary Guard. I like im', hes got personality...

Ordo Xenos Stormhawk Support Vehicle

I'm pretty happy with how my counts-as Heldrake came out. Really looks like something that could just hover in and fry a bunch of Genestealers or Hrud or something. I'm looking forward to trying him out in a game Sunday.
Sneaky little Necrons...
I like the rust/oxidation effect I achieved for wear and tear. It is just some layered stipling/ drybrushing with various oranges, browns, and metals. That is why one-off models are fun...

Stormhawk OXSV

Another addition to my mind-shackled Deathwatch counts-as Chaos. It has roughly the same size profile as a Heldrake and I think the weaponry is pretty clear...

Happy New Year everyone!

Cheap-O Wraiths

So I have really been wanting to play with Wraiths after proxying them for a couple games, unfortunately new Wraiths aren't in the financials this month. Obviously I did not want to keep proxying them, and with the prospect of a tournament this next weekend, I decided I would kit-bash some from the ol' bitz box as a temporary fix.
So I ended up using a Lychguard dispersion shield as the body, with a pair of paperclips as the tail attached to the base. I used the back of a Necron torso to bulk out the underside and provide a slot for the head. They have Tyranid Warrior scything claws with the details cut down and Mawloc spines as secondary arms/tendrils. I have done a couple different heads; one extra from a Spyder, a few SM searchlights with Necron frontface, and two with LRC targetters.
I like how they came out for something I am using on a short-term basis. They don't have the size of the new Wraiths but they match the old 3rd ed. ones fine, so should be no harm/ no foul situation....

Jonos Craegan, the Skullsworn, Honorblade

The Skullsworn,
Seventh Headsman of the Skull Takers,
Honorblade

Jonos Craegan is another one of the Lesser Champions that pays fealty to the banner of Hans Kho'ren. Before Skalathrax Craegan was Captain of the 9th Company, but his forces were crushed there, and he was forced to join Kho'ren or die. In fealty Craegan proclaimed himself as Skullsworn, his skull promised to one day meet his masters blade. It has been proven that he made the right decision for both parties, time and again on the battlefield.
Craegan bears the sword of a mighty Space Marine hero, perfectly balanced with a formidable reach. He favors the blade, but his companions have taken to calling him by the mocking honorific 'Honorblade' with derision.

The Headsmen of Drogos

First unit actually done. I'm pretty happy with the brass Juggernauts, and I don't think the riders' red clashes with it too much. Plenty more of this stuff coming down the pipeline, whenever I have time between commissions. I think these guys look quite the part.
