Alpha Legion Contemptor

Heresy Alpha Legion Tester

So long, long ago, back before all this FW Heresy craziness, my original project in the period was Alpha Legion (c. 2006 or so). That Heresy Alpha Legion army was actually my third Alpha Legion army overall... so I have had a thing for the Legion for a while. Anyways, seeing all their new fluff, and rules, and colour pages has completely drawn me back in, and I am hooked on them again.

I don't particularly care for how FW has painted their models, don't like the metallics, but I see more takes on Alpha Legion from more painters than any other legion, so I'm not worried about it.Theoretically this guy is a Vigilator in Scout Armour.

Missing from this model is the capitol Gamma I intend to incorporate on my models (as the new FW book has them using various Greek characters as heraldry).

What do you think of my first take?

Death Guard Grave Wardens

These guys are part of the same army as the World Eaters. The basing ties them together mostly, but where the Eaters have blood in the snow, the Death Guard got some putrid puddles. I used some of the Oxide paint here, and it seems to fit pretty well.

From the Tables... The Cleansing of Zedra Prime

Necrons/CSM versus the Skyblight Swarm at 1500 points. I managed to

knock out the Synapse early and the rest of the army fell apart without it.

I was asked to paint this up for a team going over to Adepticon.
I think I pulled off the cooling magma look; thoughts?

World Eaters *Red* Butchers

These models aren't quite so bad as the FW paint schemes make them out to be...

World Eaters characters and Tacticals

Another serving of World Eaters comes with another serving of gore. The Master of Signals stays pretty clean but the Praetors are both straight butchers.

These guys also got it pretty light on the blood, with most of it landing on their bases. A couple Marines have the barrels of their bolters bloody, like they just brained someone with them. The Troops in this armour are mostly regular GW plastic, with a smattering of FW bits mixed in...
