So I basically see this thing as a Necron hermit crab. It atomizes the cranium of its victim and then slips in and wears them like a suit; using nano-scarabs to control the central nervous system. It also uses the nano-scarabs as a weapon, applying them through a wicked injector. It wears one victim until their biological materials break down and rot away. In this case Iash'uddra is wearing the carcass of an Achean Mammoth Bloat Fly, a species native to the swamps my Necrons inhabit.
