Iyanden Wraithknight commission

Just knocked this thing around the last couple days; I am really happy with the nice, vibrant yellow color. It is such a huge model, handling it is like handling an action figure. I think there will be a few other Iyanden units coming in support of it, so those should be fun to do too.

Wow simply stunning. Great job. Any chance you could give a break down on how you approched the yellow?

Yellow in this case was actually very easy:
1. Spray white
2. Spray Army Painter Daemonic Yellow
3. Line crevices with Agrax Earthshade
4. (dry *completely* here)
5. Hit it with Lamenter yellow glaze
6. Edge highlight with flashgitz yellow/ flashgitz yellow with a little white.

Cannot recommend that Army Painter yellow enough for anyone doing an Iyanden army...

thanks man, I've used the army painter spray before. One thing I've found is that it is easy to blot out detail with the yellow primer. I used it on lizardmen skinks. Did you notice this at all. It may have been me just spraying too much to get a solid yellow though.

with any spray I always go on the side of caution and spray over lightly v. over heavy. In this case the few spots that the yellow missed, that stayed white, became some really nice subtle highlights when the yellow glaze hit them.
But, no, I didn't notice it going on thicker than other sprays...

Wow. Really nice, you're making me want to paint mine as Iyanden.
