What you know bout' Bigbug?

So this is my current Tyranid build for 2000 pts...

Hive Tyrant w/ 2*Talons, Adrenal Glands, Leech Essence, Paroxysm
2*Tyrant Guard
2*Zoanthropes w/ Pod 160
2*Hive Guard 100
8*Ygmarls 184
10*Termagaunts 50
10*Termagaunts 50
Tervigon w/ Cluster Spines 160
Tervigon w/ Cluster Spines 160
5*Genestealers, Broodlord w/ Scythes 118
5*Genestealers, Broodlord w/ Scythes 118
Trygon 200
Trygon 200
Trygon 200

I really feel this list is a re-envisioning of the old 4th ed. Big Bug list. The biggest reason is the scoring monstrous creatures, and their ability to create more scoring units. But also, in keeping with 5th ed. being more BADASS, I have made sure they are all 6 wound monstrous creatures. The exception to this being the Broodlords, who really are almost monstrous creatures themselves. It really sucks in KP games...

I'd consider cutting the brood lord, or the yrgmal for some points for upgrades. Let the tyrant keep his sword/whip, give him a gun. The talons really arn't needed for him.
Put some upgrades on the tervs, that is part of their gimick, giving the gaunts tox sacs and adrenal.
And nothing else is as fast as those trygons, make one of them a prime to keep the other two in check.

Just my thoughts.

All reasonable points-
-I have though about upgrades, but like you said, I'd almost have to lose a whole unit just to get them.
- The sacs and glands on the Terv are expensive and I've found they do nothing but cause irrational choices, I should not try to convince myself my Termagaunst will do anything but score...
-That is a very expensive upgrade and my Tervigons generally advance with my Trygons fr cover, so they have plenty synapse...

This list is really good and I had a fun time against it. If anything you should add two more Hiveguard to make the list really good! However it would make the army less enjoyable to fight.

I really think I could have beat you in that great game we played. REMATCH!

Yeah, got a win and a draw out of it Thursday night, with Termagaunts killing Lysander, Astorath and a Terminator Librarian...

The one things I notice about this list is that no matter what, even in a win, I have very few models left barring Gaunts...

A couple of concerns:
I'm not convinced the broodlord is superior enough to a genestealer to justify the 3x cost. Aura is good, but the AOE isn't going to overlap enough to really impact high LD armies more than being able to deliver several more attacks. Rerolling 1s doesn't seem to be a good choice over more bodies to soak wounds. Maybe replace them with 14 hormagaunts with toxin sacs?

The Ymgarl seem to be too much a hit or miss choice for their cost. Bad timing on a terrain piece and the unit may never even hit the table. Without Hive Commander on your Tyrant the Ymgarl, spores, and Trygon are going to be less reliable in forcing your opponent into bad decisions.

The Tyrant might want to invest in a heavy venom cannon and get a whip/bonesword instead. This will help with your inconsistent anti armor (along with Hive Commander) much more than the fairly weak Leech Essence. AP2 just doesn't overcome the S3.

Was it cost that lead you to skip Catalyst on the Tervigon (or onslaught)?
